Breathing Space
Breathing Space is a school-based programme designed for children from ethnic communities aged between 12-18 years.
We use Tree of Life concept connected with mindfulness-based strategies and emotional regulations (managing difficult emotions) skill development and leadership sessions in this programme.
This programme is facilitated by registered ethnic practitioners.
“I would like to once again thank Kaoru and Vani for bringing the Breathing Space Programme to Fairfield Intermediate School. We are so grateful for the dedication and aroha you show towards our students. There is much diversity in our school, and this is something we highly value, including honouring people's different cultural backgrounds. The Breathing Space Programme fits in perfectly with our school values and is an enriching and beneficial experience for our students. They are supported and encouraged to develop intercultural awareness and positive cultural identity. Further to this, the programme models positive, healthy relationships with self and others, and provides the students with lifelong skills and strategies to be the best they can be. We are very much looking forward to participating in the programme in 2024! Thank you from all of us at Fairfield Intermediate School.”
