Mental Wellbeing
Mental wellbeing is about looking after your mind so that you can enjoy life and cope with life’s day to day challenges.
It is important for all of us to look after our mental wellbeing , just as it is to look after our body and physical health. Mental health affects the way we feel, think and act.
When our mental wellbeing is good, we can:
Live a life we enjoy and feel satisfied with
Build and maintain relationships with others
Cope with the troubles we face
Overcome our stress and sadness
Feel safe and secure
And just like we can become physically unwell, or have times when our physical health is not so good, we can also experience struggles with our mental health and wellbeing.
Struggling with mental health is not a sign of weakness, or something to be ashamed of. It is part of being human and something that can happen to us all. It’s OK to ask for help and support. You don’t need to struggle alone or wait until things are really bad. Getting support early may help you feel better sooner so you can live the life you want.
